Who can vote?

You can vote in Coquitlam’s municipal election if you are:

  • 18 or older on general voting day
  • A Canadian citizen
  • A resident of BC for at least 6 months before voting day
  • A resident of Coquitlam OR a registered non-resident property owner in Coquitlam
  • Not disqualified by the Local Government Act or any other law

What ID to bring

Bring two pieces of ID, at least one with your signature. Examples: driver’s licence, BC Services Card, BC ID, Canadian passport, credit/debit card, utility bill with address.

Voting locations are published by the City of Coquitlam. You can find the list at https://coquitlam.ca/729/Elections closer to the election.

Mail-in ballots

If you can’t vote in person, mail-in ballots are available. Watch https://coquitlam.ca/729/Elections for the application deadline and process.
