Many residents have contacted me about aircraft noise following changes to flight paths over Coquitlam. While air navigation is regulated by the federal government through NAV CANADA and is outside the City’s authority, that doesn’t mean local concerns shouldn’t be heard.

• I read every email I receive and every email is responded to

• I supported the City’s strong advocacy to NAV CANADA when proposed flight path changes would have significantly increased air traffic over our city.

• Thanks in part to the City’s advocacy and the 778 submissions from Coquitlam residents, NAV CANADA revised its original proposal, reducing what could have been a much greater impact.

• I support the City’s continued engagement with NAV CANADA and YVR as they monitor the effects of the revised flight paths and review community feedback.

• I will continue advocating on behalf of residents and ensuring your concerns are communicated to the agencies responsible for air navigation.

• I encourage residents experiencing aircraft noise concerns to share their feedback with both NAV CANADA and YVR, as public input is an important part of their ongoing review.
