Arts & Culture for Everyone
I believe that a vibrant arts and culture scene is vital to a city like Coquitlam. It builds community connections and identity, drives economic growth and improves livability and overall well-being. Public art and cultural celebrations transform public spaces, attract visitors to our city, unite diverse groups of people and provide a sense of pride.
• Continue supporting and appropriately funding cultural partners (Evergreen Cultural Centre, Place des Arts, Coquitlam Heritage) and investing in arts and culture throughout the city.

• Ensure our libraries – which provide immeasurable services to so many in our city – continue to receive adequate funding. A new library in Burke Mountain is coming and plans are in place for a new Burquitlam library.
• Expand opportunities for residents to experience public art, music, festivals, and cultural celebrations.

• Support free and affordable arts programming that is accessible and inclusive.
• Foster partnerships with local artists and organizations to animate our public spaces
• Explore opportunities to showcase local artists; perhaps collaborate with local businesses to host displays

• Promote opportunities for residents and visitors to discover and enjoy Coquitlam’s public art collection - for example public art walking tours.
• Ensure our growing public art collection remains sustainable, welcoming, and reflective of our diverse community.

• Continue to support the Royal Canadian Legion and initiatives that support our veterans
