Making Life More Affordable
The rising cost of living continues to put pressure on individuals, families, seniors and businesses. While municipalities cannot control inflation or interest rates, we can make choices that help reduce everyday costs and improve quality of life. From housing and transportation to recreation, childcare and responsible financial management, I will continue supporting practical initiatives that help make Coquitlam a more affordable place to live.
• Continue implementing Coquitlam’s successful Housing Affordability Strategy to support a wide range of housing solutions
• Continue advocating for more purpose-built rental housing including below-market and non-market.
• Encourage the creation of well-paying jobs within Coquitlam so more residents can live and work in the same community.
• Work with partners to expand access to quality, affordable childcare.
• Support innovative programs such as EquipSport that provides free access to sports equipment in our parks.
• Expand affordable and no-cost arts, recreation and community programming for residents of all ages and abilities, including free and low-cost drop-in opportunities.

• Improve transportation options so more households can choose to own fewer vehicles.
• Continue responsible financial stewardship to keep property taxes as low as possible while protecting the services residents rely on.
